How to use acetate sheets for art?
The possibilities are unlimited! You can make cards by using the acetate sheets as transparent background, or as a see-through front for window or shaker cards. You can draw on acetate sheets and create different effects on them. For example, you can drop some alcohol ink on the acetate sheet and blow it through a straw, and that will create some very interesting explosion-like effects on the sheet. Not only that, but you can also use acetate sheets to make food art, for example, replace your transfer sheet with it: just paint the acetate sheet with edible paint and press the sheet onto something (chocolate, or cake, or any other smooth surface), and, voilà, you’ve created designer food! So it's only up to your creative drive how you want to use such a versatile piece in art.
How to print on acetate sheets?
Things to know and think about when printing on Acetate Sheets:
- Acetate Sheet is not intended to be printed, but it can be screen printed, pad printed, thermal printed, or printed with a commercial inkjet printer.
- Read the instructions on the back of your acetate sheet package, there should be directions regarding the printer settings for your particular type and brand of acetate sheet. Open the Printer Properties application and make the necessary adjustments before saving the settings.
- Insert the acetate sheet into the printer feeder, making sure that the rough side of the paper faces the printer's print head.
- Do not touch the printed image after the acetate sheet has been removed from the printer. Handle it by the edges and place it on a flat surface, printed side up until the ink dries.
